Truck Driver

Groveport, OH

Dalton Sealing & Paving is currently searching for a Truck Driver to join their team in Groveport, Ohio! We are built on 75 years of experience and offer top notch asphalt overlay, line striping, seal coating, concrete service, driveway construction and much more.

The right candidate will:

• 2-3 years of commercial driving experience required- can operate manual shift transmission
• Valid driver's license is required
• Can read, analyze, and interpret road maps, navigation systems and bill of landings
• Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers at delivery sites
• Can effectively present information to management, customers and dispatch
• Able to interact clearly and effectively, both written and verbal communication with supervisor, crew, customers, etc.
• Must be able to pass required tests, random screenings and training that includes DOT physicals
• Ability to remain in stationary position for 60 percent of the time while operating the machine on shop floor

Our Truck Driver will:

• Operate dump trucks, pick-up trucks, and box trucks
• Loads and unloads materials onto truck trailers and drives truck to transport machines and materials to and from job sites
• Inspects loads to ensure that cargo is secure
• Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew
• Stays aware of overhead conditions during dump operations
• Receives material load tickets from pick-up and delivering to foreman
• Obeys traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures
• Reads maps and follows written or verbal geographic directions
• Plans or adjusts routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices
• Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report issues to appropriate management
• Perform vehicle pre and post inspections
